Hopes were high when the teasers at the end of both Spider-Man and Miles Morales teased the arrival of Venom. And, thankfully, it’s the only part of the story they actually did well. Using it to tell a tragic tale of two friends, instead of the more standard Eddie Brock story. Insomniac easily could have simply reused the map from Spider-Man and Miles Morales. A mostly accurate recreation of New York City, with certain buildings missing and other ones added. It’s all part of delivering an epic Spider-Man adventure directly into your hands.
Aurantia Suit – Peter
And the way both characters’ powers grow over the course of the story are very satisfying. The first game laid the groundwork for how fun swinging as Spider-Man can be. So make sure your reaction time is sharp before you don the super suit.

Nixxes is a studio with a great track record for porting games such as this one, with the company ensuring that Nvidia DLSS 3 and AMD FSR 3.1, along with Intel XeSS upscaling, are included from day one. This means that you should have ready access to upscaling options to get the best balance of performance and image quality for your needs, as long as your PC has the power to match the presets you use. As you might expect from a game with these requirements, the Spider-Man 2 download size is big. The PC version is larger than the PS5 file size, sitting at 140GB, and an SSD will be required to run it.
With the Spider-Men slinging around some serious upgrades, it makes sense that the skill trees have experienced a boost, too. There are now three different skill trees to develop as the game progresses. The two individual strands focus on what makes each hero unique, such as Miles’ bioelectricity and invisibility, and Peter’s Spider-Arms and Symbiote powers. Building on top of the classic web-swinging fun that the previous two games delivered, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 introduces the ability to glide using Web Wings. But g28 aren’t just a flashy addition from the comics and movies – they entirely change how you navigate around Marvel’s New York.
This hulking, powerful beast has arrived in Marvel’s New York like a twisted natural disaster. The incredible power of the symbiote forces Peter and Miles to face the ultimate test of strength, both inside and outside the mask, as they balance their lives, friendships and their duty to protect those in need. In the aftermath, Mary Jane quits the Daily Bugle to run her own podcast and moves in with Peter, who opts to take a break from being Spider-Man to focus on rebuilding the EMF, trusting Miles to protect the city on his own.
The popular anti-hero may serve as a villain, a not-so-friendly ally in a greater battle, or perhaps even a mix of both throughout the game. Obviously, it wouldn’t be a Spider-Man game without the man of the hour, Peter Parker. Players will reprise the role of Spidey in Insomniac’s sequel, stepping into the shoes of the friendly neighborhood hero – though he won’t be alone. Since the game lets you play as both Peter Parker and Miles Morales, this motif of them coming together to overcome their villains.
Players who explored the previous Spider-Man games may remember that they could discover Nelson and Murdock’s plaque on a building in Hell’s Kitchen, suggesting these Daredevil characters ran their legal business from there. Interestingly, in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 the plaque remains but all text is gone, perhaps implying that they have relocated elsewhere. After the disappointment of Marvel’s Avengers, who knew that Square Enix would publish one of Marvel’s best ever games shortly afterwards?
Peter starts his first day as a physics teacher at Brooklyn Visions Academy with Miles among his students, but they are interrupted by a rampaging Sandman, requiring both the Spider-Men to subdue him. Fired for abandoning the class, Peter returns to his Aunt May’s home in Queens–which he has moved into following her death[b]–to meet with Mary Jane. They are surprised by Harry, who has miraculously recovered from his terminal illness. Harry hires Peter to work at his environmental technology startup, the Emily-May Foundation (named after Aunt May and Harry’s mother Emily), so they can pursue his dream of “healing the world”. While overseeing a prison transfer with Peter at The Raft, a vengeful Miles fails to stop the Hunters from capturing Martin Li, who previously killed his father, Jefferson Davis.
Jefferson is lauded for his heroism at a re-election event for Mayor Norman Osborn. The Demons attack the event, killing Jefferson and many other attendees. Peter witnesses Martin Li transforming into their leader, Mister Negative, but is knocked unconscious before he can intervene. Following the attack, Norman hires Silver Sablinova and Sable International to supplant the police.
This slice of adventure is set to pit both Peter and Miles against a “new Super Villain whose powers they [don]t understand.” That villain being The Hood. On the other hand, Spider-Man 2’s version of New York is also expanding into Queens where we’ll be able to swing around Peter’s home borough, and maybe even visit some iconic locations from his past. As well as this, Scott Porter – who voiced Harry Osborn in the first Spider-Man game – confirmed that the character will be appearing in the sequel. In a now-deleted tweet, the actor revealed that, while the character will be coming back, he will not be lending his voice to the role.
